`Screaming Through December` formed in November 1988, gigging throughout Clydebank and Dumbarton areas. We played mostly covers whilst writing our own material in the studio.
The name comes from an old `Halls & Oats` track!

Through time this original material was incorporated into the set and led us to play more than 50% of our own material live.

We believed that our own style of "Folk/Pop/Rock" sounded so distinctive because all of the band members had totally different tastes in music. (A bit awkward at times!!)

We recorded a track entitled "Judgement Day" which was included on a compilation EP of four local bands, financed by the Clydebank Bands Promotion Group. This was released in May 1991.

We continued recording and in August 1991 we released our debut album, containing 12 tracks, called "Reality's A Dream", which was financed by ourselves on the `Pulsebeat` label.

Since then the band has been through some changes in the line-up:

  • Alan Fenner replaced the original drummer, Kevin Graham.

  • The keyboard player, Steve, then left to pursue other things - Like having a social life!

  • The drummer, Alan Fenner, then left and was replaced by Martin Brandon.

  • In September 2004 the band went through its biggest change when Martin immigrated to New Zealand. (what a good idea that was! lol)

  • This led to the arrival of drummer, Jamie Stewart.

  • It also gave us the perfect opportunity to bring back Steve on keyboards.

  • Jamie left the band to pursue career in another band `Clann An Drumma` full time.
9th April 2007. We wish him all the best!

  • Martin has come back as drummer for the band.

  • Davy Allen quit the band on 28th October 2011 after over 20 years of service!

  • Dave Upward joined us on 28th November 2011!

`Screaming Through December` now concentrates fully on playing
covers in pubs, clubs, weddings and functions.
